In 1972, UNESCO adopted the ‘Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage Convention’. World Heritage Sites are properties or locations considered to be of outstanding value to humanity – and a lot of them are in Britain! We also have 7 designated Heritage Cities offering British heritage in abundance.
Britain agreed to the 'Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage Convention' in 1984. Today we are proud to have over 25 World Heritage Sites.
