Watching Cricket in Britain

It's Saturday afternoon at Trent Bridge during the second day of the test match. As Saturday is fancydress day, you're surrounded by the Flintstones, some posh men in bowler hats and 3 Elvis impersonators. 'Fred-dy, Fred-dy' is the cheer as Flintoff comes in to bowl off his long run, the crowd goes quiet as he delivers the ball, then there is a giant 'ooohhhh' as he beats the bat. The ball goes through to the 'keeper and the chant 'Fred-dy' starts again.

Cricket mad

For cricket fanatics, a day at a test match is a must. While some don't understand how a game can last for 5 days and still end in a draw, you understand the true beauty of the game. A visit to Lords Cricket Ground (www.lords.org), the 'home of cricket' is also a must.

Visit the England & Wales Cricket Board (www.ecb.co.uk/) for information on tickets.
