St Georges Hall

St Georges Hall

If you take the train to Liverpool, St Georges Hall will probably be the first building you see. It’s widely regarded as the finest neo-classical building in Europe, and represents the prosperity in Liverpool in the 19th century. Charles Dickens was a regular visitor to St Georges Hall, and held many of his readings in the ‘Small Assembly Room’, which you can see on a guided tour of the Hall.

Liverpool Museum

World Museum Liverpool

Next, visit the World Museum Liverpool, one of Britain’s finest museums. The museum combines historic treasures from around the globe with the latest interactive technology to give you an unforgettable trip. Here, you can see collections ranging from the Amazonian rainforest to outer space. The World Museum Liverpool is also home to the Liverpool Planetarium, which puts on daily space science shows.

Albert Dock towards Liver Building

Town centre & 08 Place

Liverpool’s town centre is a haven for shoppers, and since the announcement of the city’s title as European Capital of Culture, it has undergone a multi-million pound regeneration project. Pop into the 08 Place in the town centre to find out about what’s going on in Liverpool and pick up some Liverpool 08 souvenirs.

The Cavern Club

Cavern Club

The last stop on your itinerary today is the Cavern Club where the Beatles became famous. Stand outside the club and have your picture taken with a statue of John Lennon, and admire the brick wall with the names of past and present artists who have performed there. Why not stay and catch a gig from a local band? You never know, they might be the next Beatles.
