Places to visit
For the inside tips on the best places to visit, don't miss these great suggestions.
Corfe Castle
Rosa, Queens, USA
"Corfe Castle (www.corfe-castle.co.uk/) is a thousand-year-old castle located in Dorset. I would recommend a visit to the ruins for anybody who is interested in history, heritage and the medieval age. We drove to Corfe from Southampton arriving very early in the morning. Surrounded by the fog the ruins looked magnificent, full of character.
In Corfe, I suggest walking the streets and visiting the small handicrafts shops, also stop to taste the traditional pub food. If you have children with you, I would also recommend the steam train ride on The Swanage Railway, which presently runs from the Norden Park & Ride to Swanage."
Lindisfarne
Ana, Vizcaya, Spain
"Never heard of Lindisfarne? Not a very English name for an English place, is it? That's the original name for the Holy Island, described as 'the Jewel of the Northumberland Coast'. You can reach the island on foot or by car but only at low tide. Something for outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers and bird-watchers alike. In addition, you can visit the ruins of the Benedictine Priory and Lindisfarne Castle."
