Golden Age Promotion

1. The Promoters are the British Tourist Authority trading as VisitBritain Level 2, 15 Blue Street North Sydney NSW 2060. ABN: 78 819 377 551

2. The competition will be promoted on the following website www.visitbritain.com.au/goldenage

3. To enter, simply complete and submit the online entry form.  No purchase necessary.

4. Entry is open to all Australian residents who are aged 18 years or older and an Australian resident at the time of submitting their entries.  Employees and their immediate families of VisitBritain, Universal Pictures, Qantas Holidays Ltd, Hilton, Hertz, Historic Royal Palaces and the Great British Heritage Pass and their agents or any companies associated with the promotion and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter. 

5. The prizes have been sourced from partners as stated above.  VisitBritain will arrange for delivery of the prize to the prize-winner and the airline will book flights.

6. Only one entry per person.  Duplicate entries will be disqualified.  Only entries submitted via the online entry form will be accepted.  Copies by post will not be accepted.  Incorrect, incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be ineligible to enter.  No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or misdirected entries.

7. The competition commences on 01/11/07. The closing date for entries is 31/12/07 closing at 12 Midnight Australian Eastern Standard Time on that date.

8. There are two major prizes and the Major Prize draw will take place at 12:00pm (EST) on Monday 14 January 2008 at Legion Interactive - Level 8, 155 George Street Sydney NSW 2000.  The two winners will be notified by email.  Their names and localities will be published in the public notices section of The Australian on Monday 21 January 2008. Should the prize be unclaimed (except in the event of one or both of the originally drawn winner(s) being a resident of SA) a second draw will take place on Monday 5 May 2008 at 12:00pm (EST) at Legion Interactive - Level 8, 155 George Street Sydney NSW 2000 and will be published in the public notices section of The Australian Monday  12 May 2008. In the event that the originally drawn winner(s) is a resident of SA, the prize will be forfeited in full, no redraw will occur and no prize substitute will be offered.

9. There are two prize trips to be won and each prize total is valued at up to $7,870.00 (Recommended Retail Price including GST) depending on the point of departure and travel dates submitted.  Therefore, the maximum prize pool is $15,740.00. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value.

10. The prize consists of a trip to the UK.  There will be 2 prizes on offer to 2 individuals. 

Each prize includes:

• Return economy class flights with Qantas Holidays for the winner and 1 friend from the capital city nearest the winner's usual residential address in Australia to London Heathrow. (Inclusive of all airfare related charges and taxes).  Valued up to $7,025.00.  Both people must travel together on the same dates & routing.  Stopovers are at an additional expense to the winner. 

• 4 nights accommodation, based on 2 sharing a room on a room only basis, provided by Hilton’s UK, hotel valued at $581.00 

• 1 day car hire of group C vehicle $122.00

10.1. All components of the prize must be taken together.  Accommodation will be booked by VisitBritain on winners behalf & flights by Qantas Holidays.  The prize is as stated above and is not redeemable for cash and is non transferable.

10.2. All other costs including meals, spending money, transport to and from departure / arrival points, taxes, insurance, travel insurance, passports, visas and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winner and their travel companion.

10.3. The prize must be taken by 31 October 2008.  Two months notice in advance of travel required.  The prize winners must be available to travel before this date otherwise the entire prize is forfeit.  No extension on the validity date of this prize will be permitted.  Once booked, any changes made to the booking may incur a cancellation fee or amendment fee at the cost of the winner.

10.4. Hilton UK Hotel restrictions - Hilton Mini Breaks are available for 2 night stays, based on 2 sharing on a room only basis.  Rooms are subject to availability and an allocation of rooms. Expenses incurred at hotel including (but not limited to) use of minibar, room service, meals, external phone calls, car parking etc are not included in the price and will automatically be added to your hotel bill. These extra charges must be settled prior to departure from the hotel.  Prizes are non transferable and non refundable

10.5. Hertz Car Hire restrictions - Prize consists of a 1 day car hire of group C vehicle (ford focus or similar) in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland). The rental must be taken and completed by 31 October 2008 and booked four weeks in advance of the first day of the car hire period. The prize is inclusive of Unlimited Mileage, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, Location Service Charge and taxes.  The prize does not include fuel or refueling service charges plus optional extras purchased at the counter, such as child seats. The winner must be a minimum of 25 years of age and provide a valid credit card as security against the vehicle. Any extension of the car hire period will be charged accordingly. The prize is for one unbroken period of hire, which cannot be split and no cash alternative is available. Hertz terms and conditions of rental apply – such as those applying to age. This prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer.  Prizes are non transferable and non refundable

10.6. Qantas Holidays flight restrictions - Prize travel is subject to availability at the time of booking. Winner(s) and their travel companion will not accrue Qantas Frequent Flyer points on the prize travel or accommodation.  If a prize or any part of a prize cannot, in the opinion of Qantas Holidays Limited, be provided for any reason, then Qantas Holidays Limited reserves the right to provide an alternative travel prize or part of a prize (including to an alternative destination) to the same value as that part of the prize being replaced.  Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services. A prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter. There can be no changes made to travel arrangements once tickets are issued. If the prize is not utilised by 31st October 2008 it will be forfeited.  The Promoter and Qantas and each of their related bodies corporate, their officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with this competition, the promotion of this competition or the use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.  The prize does not include travel insurance, passports, visas, meals, taxes not included in the price of the ticket, ground transportation or any other costs of a personal nature not stated. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the/each prize-winner and travel companion. It is the responsibility of the prizewinner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations prior to travel. Qantas makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including local government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
10.7. Ceremony of the Keys restrictions - Two months notice in advance of travel required.  Tickets are non transferable and non-refundable.
10.8. Great British Heritage Pass restrictions - Passes are valid for six months and are non-transferable Passes will be delivered to prize winners by VisitBritain.  Prizes are non transferable and non refundable.

11. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of the winning trip or excursions or as a result of taking a prize except for any liability, which cannot be excluded by law.

12. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.  In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency or disaster (including natural disaster), the Promoter reserves the right to either provide an alternative travel prize (including an alternative destination as specified by the Promoter) to the same value as the original prize or, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion subject to lottery authorities.

13. All entries and any copyright subsisting in the entries become and remain the property of the Promoter.  The Promoter collects personal information about entrants to include entrants in the promotion and award a prize.  If the required information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion.  By entering the promotion, each entrant agrees that the Promoter may disclose entrants’ personal information to applicable State and Territory lottery departments, and that the winner's name and locality will be published as required under the relevant lottery legislation.

14. The prize-winner must accept that their name may be announced in any VisitBritain publication or any publication of the Campaign Partners, including online publications, for publicity purposes.  They must also accept that they may be photographed and their photographs published in the aforesaid publication(s) for publicity purposes.

15. VisitBritain respects your rights to privacy under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and is required to comply with the national privacy principles in respect of the collection of personal information from individuals.

The personal information collected under the Golden Age Promotion includes your name, address, and email address which is required to enable us to properly conduct the competition including the award of prizes and rewards.
We will not disclose personal information collected about you to any other party except to our competition partners as stated in point 3.

VisitBritain adhere to a strict internal privacy code to ensure that privacy is adhered to. You may request access to the personal information we hold about you at any time and you may request us to amend your personal records if you believe the information is incorrect.
