New bands with new styles have kicked off the decade:
The Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs with their 70s inspired punk sound launched onto the scene;
Sheffield local lads The Arctic Monkeys started life at the Leadmill Club which from the 1980s has been well trodden route for local bands;
The Futureheads played to a sell-out concert at Newcastle’s newest venue - The Carling Academy;
Devon in the South West was the birthplace for both Chris Martin from Coldplay and Joss Stone, while Muse hail from Teignmouth.
Head to Colston Hall in Bristol, it’s legendary concert venue which has hosted rock legends such as The Beatles and the Rolling Stones and more recently Robbie Williams. Read more...
